Alcohol and Drug Service
The Alcohol and Drug Service (ADS) at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital is a nurse-led service providing expert, evidence-based, clinical guidance on the management of substance misuse disorders.
We assist medical and nursing staff to manage patients with complications related to substance misuse syndrome. Services include:
- substance misuse assessment
- harm minimization strategies
- brief interventions.
We liaise with community alcohol and other drug services, both public and private, to facilitate engagement with patients who require ongoing support, treatment and management post-discharge from SCGH.
