PACU Fundamentals Course

This 1-day course led by experienced PACU senior nurses and anaesthetists will provide you with evidence-based education and skills relevant to nurses who work in the post-anaesthesia care unit (PACU). You will develop expertise and refine your skills with hands-on practical workshops, lectures and various simulation scenarios covering relevant PACU emergencies.

Topics:

• airway management
• blood pressure support specific to the PACU setting (including arterial line management)
• pharmacology
• multi-modal pain management
• management of post-anaesthetic emergencies
• Topics will be applicable to novice and experienced nurses.

2024 dates

• 31 May 8am to 4.30pm (morning tea and lunch provided)
• 6 September 8am to 4.30pm (morning tea and lunch provided)
