Celebrating our dedicated staff!
Congratulations Zofia Hugo, Acting Nurse Manager for Wards G52 and G66, who is our SCGOPHCG Employee of the Month Award winner for November.
Zofia has a focus and vision on how she would like G52 – the Neurosurgery ward – to function, and has a genuine desire to make a difference for all staff and the patients in their care. Every day she shows she is committed to providing ongoing excellence in service for the benefit of our patients.
Zofia’s colleagues say she embodies the qualities of an inspirational, dedicated and genuinely enthusiastic leader. She is compassionate and respectful to all staff, and there are always positive stories being shared about Zofia – such as Zofia making biscuits for the graduate nurses' morning tea for their study day!
Staff know they can approach Zofia with any issue and she listens, and they know when they go the extra mile, she is genuinely appreciative - the outcome is the team then wants to rise to the occasion and do more for her.
The judges were impressed and agreed. Their comments noted Zofia was an example of someone living and demonstrating our values every day, and that the Nurse Manager role is so important in supporting the people who care for our patients.
