    Meet our SCGOPHCG WA Nursing and Midwifery Awards finalists 02 May 2025 In the lead up the 2025 Western Australia Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards on 10 May, we are shining a spotlight on our finalists from Osborne Park and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospitals. Meet Solomon Solomon, a finalist in the Graduate of the Year category, completed his nursing training at Osborne Park Hospital last year and is now at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Solomon said he was surprised and humbled on being announced as a finalist. "I believe that I try my best to ensure that my patients and their families feel involved and seen as real people and not minimised to being a patient and their visitors," he said. Steven was nominated by Lynette Rodriguez, Registered Nurse, SCGH who said Steven is a highly valued member of the Plastic Dressing Clinic (PDC) team whose diligence and tireless work ethic make the clinic run smoothly and efficiently. “In fact, as good as our relief staff are, when Steven has taken leave, his absence is always apparent,” Lynette said.     Revolutionising telehealth for adults with Cystic Fibrosis 07 July 2020 Physiotherapy and exercise is an integral part of the management of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) though adults with CF normally have limited access to home based specialist physiotherapy and are unable to participate in community based group exercise due to cross-infection risks. Tamara Hatton, a SCGH Physiotherapist saw this problem as an opportunity to innovate and applied to the NMHS Innovative Future (IF) Program seeking to establish a telehealth home-based exercise service providing supervised individual and group exercise sessions. The goal of the project was to increased access to specialist physiotherapy and group based exercise to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare utilisation, including hospital admission.
